Focus group management is historically a marketing initiative that was modified to address other management concerns. Focus group management identifies, isolates and brings together specific stakeholders and individuals of specifically targeted publics to provide necessary information on a particular subject matter. The purpose of a focus group is to solicit opinions, concerns, observations and comments from participants in total confidence. The purpose is not to negotiate, defend, explain or address any matter raised. Focus groups accomplish one thing. They gather valuable information that might not otherwise be attainable.
